What Time Does GTA 6 Launch in Brazil and Around the World?
GTA 6 unlocks at midnight local time everywhere on November 19, 2026 — see the exact time in Brazil, the US, the UK, and why New Zealand plays more than 20 hours before everyone else.
GTA 6 unlocks at local midnight, not one fixed global time
Rockstar Games confirmed GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but never announced one single fixed worldwide launch hour. Instead, digital storefront listings (PlayStation Store and Xbox) show a staggered unlock at midnight LOCAL time in each region — the same pattern used for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
In practice, that means the game unlocks first in countries furthest east on the map, and last in those furthest west — creating roughly a 19-hour window between the first country to play and the last.
Launch time by region (local midnight converted to UTC)
New Zealand: unlocks November 18, 11:00 UTC (the first country in the world to play). United Kingdom (GMT): November 19, 00:00 UTC. Brazil (UTC-3): November 19, 03:00 UTC — midnight Brasília time. US/Canada East Coast (EST, UTC-5): November 19, 05:00 UTC. Mexico/Central America, among the last to unlock: November 19, 06:00 UTC.
Between New Zealand and Brazil, for example, the gap is more than 20 hours — New Zealand players start playing almost a full day before Brazilian players.
Can you play earlier by switching your account region?
Technically yes: switching your PSN or Xbox account region to a time zone that unlocks earlier (like New Zealand) could grant earlier access. But this carries real risks — it can violate platform terms of service, cause payment/currency issues, and in extreme cases lead to account restrictions. If you consider it, research your platform's specific risks carefully first.
Frequently Asked Questions
What time does GTA 6 launch in Brazil?
At midnight Brasília time (UTC-3), in the early hours between November 18 and 19, 2026 — equivalent to 03:00 UTC on November 19.
Why does launch time vary by country?
Because digital storefronts (PlayStation Store and Xbox) unlock the game at midnight LOCAL time in each region, not at one fixed global time — the same pattern used for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Which country plays GTA 6 first?
New Zealand, being in the easternmost time zone, is typically the first country to reach local midnight and therefore the first to play — more than 20 hours before Brazil.
Does this same rule apply to pre-loading?
Yes — GTA 6's pre-load (starting November 10, 2026 on PS5) also follows the local-midnight-per-timezone pattern. On Xbox Series X|S, however, pre-loading unlocks globally with no regional variation.
Is launch time the same on PC?
GTA 6 has no confirmed PC release date — analysts estimate 6 to 7 months after the console launch, so this timezone breakdown is specific to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S launch.
