GTA 6 Is Reportedly a 210GB Download on PS5, Nearly Double Red Dead Redemption 2

The leak: 210GB confirmed by PlayStationSize

According to a new leak reported by GTABoom, the standard edition of GTA 6 will take up roughly 210GB of storage on PS5. The figure comes from the PlayStationSize account on X, known for pulling real data directly from the PlayStation Store backend, which gives the number a solid degree of credibility compared to typical pre-launch guesswork.

The 210GB figure also lines up with an earlier leak sourced from a GTA 6 development build, which already pointed to something in the ~200GB range. Two independent sources converging on roughly the same number is a decent signal the final size won't stray far from this.

How it stacks up against other Rockstar games

For context: Red Dead Redemption 2 takes up about 99GB on PS4, and GTA V weighs roughly 87GB on current-gen platforms (PS5/Xbox Series) and 42GB on last-gen. In other words, GTA 6 at 210GB would be almost double the size of RDR2, which was already considered a massive install at the time of its launch.

Xbox Series size, and what's next

As of now, the Xbox Series download size hasn't been disclosed — neither officially by Rockstar nor through a leak equivalent to PlayStationSize's PS5 data. Pre-load on PS5 opens on November 12, with the official launch set for November 19.

Why the install size actually matters

At 210GB, GTA 6 will require some planning from anyone running a smaller SSD setup — especially players who haven't expanded their PS5's internal storage. It's worth clearing up free space on the console now, well before pre-load opens, to avoid a last-minute scramble in November.
